Senior DevOps Engineer (Hybrid - NYC)

We are hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer on behalf of our client – a fast-paced, innovation-driven company in New York with a startup mindset. This is a hybrid role, requiring at least two days a week on-site in NYC.This is not a managerial role, but we are seeking someone highly professional, self-driven, and capable of independently setting priorities and executing tasks. The right candidate is expected to be mindful, demonstrate urgency, and be available in emergency situations (24/7) if needed.

Key Responsibilities:• Own and manage CI/CD processes with Azure DevOps: Setup, optimize, and troubleshoot workflows and pipelines.• Work fluently in AWS: Confident in managing and optimizing AWS services, with a particular focus on Lambda cost-efficiency and strategic use of newer features.• Ensure observability and operational excellence: Use Datadog to set up monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards. Proactively identify and escalate critical issues and their impact – even up to the CEO level.• Collaborate across teams with a startup-level understanding of urgency, autonomy, and accountability.• Uphold high standards of system reliability, security, and performance.

Job requirements:

Key Requirements:• 5 to 10 years of relevant DevOps experience.• Prior experience in startup environments or similarly fast-moving cultures.• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps, AWS (especially Lambda), and Datadog.• A clear, personal understanding of what operational excellence means and how it contributes to business success.• Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset.• Willingness to participate in multiple rounds of interviews as part of the selection process.⸻If you’re a self-sufficient DevOps expert who thrives in dynamic environments and takes pride in maintaining high standards, we’d love to connect with you.
