Senior Platform Engineer

$150,000 - $180,000 per year | New York, New York, United States | Development Operations

We are hiring a Senior Platform Engineer on behalf of our client – a fast-paced, innovation-driven company based in New York with a startup mindset. This is a hybrid position requiring at least three days per week on-site in NYC.

This is not a managerial role, but we are looking for a highly capable, self-motivated individual who can independently prioritize, execute, and deliver results. The ideal candidate is reliable, calm under pressure, mindful, demonstrate urgency, and be available in emergency situations (24/7)

Key Responsibilities:• Own and manage CI/CD processes with Azure DevOps: Setup, optimize, and troubleshoot workflows and pipelines.• Work fluently in AWS: Confident in managing and optimizing AWS services, with a particular focus on Lambda cost-efficiency and strategic use of newer features.• Ensure observability and operational excellence: Use Datadog to set up monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards. Proactively identify and escalate critical issues and their impact – even up to the CEO level.• Collaborate across teams with a startup-level understanding of urgency, autonomy, and accountability.• Uphold high standards of system reliability, security, and performance.

Job requirements:

Key Requirements:• 5 to 10 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.• Proven success in startup or fast-paced environments.• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps, AWS (especially Lambda), and Datadog.

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tooling and platform performance optimization.• Willingness to participate in a multi-round interview process.
